At the beginning of April, the trail run elite will again come together in Naturns to conquer the Sonnenberg of the Texelgruppe Nature Park on winding paths.

Inspired by the Ötzi Alpin Marathon, an extreme triathlon between orchards and glaciers, Naturns has been hosting a similar event for mountain runners since 2021. The next edition of the Alpenplus Ötzi Trailrun will take place on 5 April 2025.

Trailrun event with 2 routes

At 9:00 am, the participants of the “Sunny Mountain Trail” start from the town hall square in Naturns. The 30 km long route leads over 2,100 metres of difference in altitude, uphill and downhill, past remote farms, partly along the Meran High Mountain Trail and finally back to Naturns. With countless steps and an impressive suspension bridge, the Valley of Thousand Steps is definitely one of the highlights of this route.

Those who choose the “Naturns Skyrace” tackle 1,150 of altitude difference and a total of 15 km. Thanks to steep ascents and long descents, this route variant is no less exciting. The start and finish are also in the centre of Naturns, and the race starts at 10:00 am.
